When children construct their own strategies, or ideas, they are more likely to put meaning and connection to those ideas. Children are more likely to develop good problem solving skills in mathematics. When children are told HOW to solve a problem, the ideas usually never make it past the short term memory. This session explores the strategies parents can use to better support their children in mathematics.
