What's Your Story - Panel Discussion

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Have you ever read something and wondered, "How do they do it?" How did the author take an idea in their head and create a written work that can transport you or teach you? Or maybe you have a story inside of you, fiction or nonfiction, and you're wondering what to do with it. Perhaps your child wants to be a writer, but you're not sure how to make that happen for them. You could even have something that you have written, an unfinished work stashed somewhere, or one that you've been unable or afraid to find a publisher for. If so, this panel discussion is for you.

Come meet fellow homeschoolers, both adults and students, who are published authors. Like all homeschoolers, our panel reflects the diversity in our community:

• Elena Brem, age 9, author & illustrator of 2 volumes of poetry

• Blair Lee, non-fiction writer of science and homeschooling issues

• Krisula Gosdis Moyer, self-published novelist

• Alexis Tan, age 12, author & illustrator of several self-published novels

Come with your questions! How to keep motivated from start to finish? How to find a publisher? What are the steps to self-publishing? Parents of the young authors will also be available to discuss how to facilitate a child’s writing. The session will conclude with a book signing with authors.
