Pine Wood Derby - Build and Race Your Own Car

Participants build and race their own wood cars built from a block of pine, plastic wheels and metal axles. Kits can be found at your local craft or hardware store or can be purchased from many retailers on line.  Bring a car that you’ve built at home or participate in a car building workshop at the Expo.  Kits will be available at the Expo for a suggested donation of $5.00.  Workshop will be limited to assembly, sanding and painting.  Carving tools will not be available.  
Trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place race winners.

Car specifications
• Maximum width – 2-3/4″
• Maximum length – 7″
• Maximum weight – Not over 5 Ounces
• Minimum width between wheels – 1-3/4″
• Minimum bottom clearance underneath the body (so it does not rub on the track guide) – 3/8″

All ages.  Younger kids may need parental help.
